Applications for admission to the 40th cycle of PhD programs in agricultural sciences at Sapienza University of Rome in Italy; admissions to PhD programs in 2024-2025 are open. In accordance with M.D. 247/202218, the scholarship amount is € 16.243,00 gross, plus statutory withholdings. There is no limit to how long the scholarship lasts. Scholarships are paid monthly.

Research doctorates (PhDs) are the highest academic degrees awarded by Italian universities in most fields of study. Students with Masters or equivalent degrees can apply for the PhD program. A PhD program prepares students for conducting scientific research and improving their research methodology. A Research Doctorate is awarded after 3 years of study, completion of assigned research activities and presentation of a final dissertation.

APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO PhD PROGRAMMES – Academic Year 2024/2025 – 40th Cycle NOTE: GENERAL SHUTDOWN OF IT SERVICES SUPPORTING TEACHING ACTIVITIES – 7/8 AND 9 JUNE 2024. It is important to note that essential maintenance operations will be conducted on the InfoStud platform and other software components on 7, 8, and 9 June 2024. As a result, administrative IT services supporting teaching activities will be unavailable for a short period of time. Among them are the InfoStud platform, Gomp/smart_edu, Socrates Organizer, and the doctoral programme management system.

The operations are part of the project to implement the new Teaching and Student System, specifically the phase of integrating the InfoStud/SDS platform and the University’s Identity Management system, the release of the new Registry functions and the migration to the new Database version. On Friday, 7 June, the shutdown will begin at 12:00 noon local time, and on Monday, 10 June, services will resume at 8:00 a.m. local time. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your cooperation.

THE APPLICATION

When the candidates submit the application, they declare their intention to compete for the scholarship. They may indicate which PhD scholarship(s) they wish to apply for, indicating their preferences in order of priority. However, these preferences won’t be binding on the commission mentioned in Art. 11. Applicants can apply without a scholarship only if there are surplus places described in Arts. 7 and 8. There will be no exceptions to the deadline of 23:59 pm (local time) on 20 June 2024 for applications.

Candidates need to login to Infostud, go to the “PhD Programmes” section, complete the online application, upload the required documents, and close it and submit it. Applications can be modified until they are closed and submitted. Only applications submitted by 23:59 (local time) on 20 June 2024 will be considered valid for the competition. Once submitted and closed, the application cannot be modified and cannot be resubmitted.
